The Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) and the Caribbean’s telecom service provider FLOW have teamed up to implement a major beautification enhancement project in the island’s capital, The Valley. The initiative includes a comprehensive landscaping plan with a variety of flowers and foliage along one of the busiest roads on the island.
“The strategic location of the space, front-facing one of the busiest intersections in close proximity to FLOW’s retail store, makes it an ideal spot for our enhancement efforts,” said Keri Rogers, manager, destination experience, ATB.
Another significant element of the project is the installation of three decorative benches in the enhanced area, which will serve as a tribute to prominent figures who have made significant contributions to the Anguillian community. The three individuals to be honored are John Benjamin, Past ATB chairman and past chairman of the Anguilla Summer Festival; Colville Petty, O.B.E, historian; and Everet F. Romney, MBE, FLOW’s first local general manager.
“As a leading corporate citizen, we are delighted to support the ATB on this important initiative,” said Jade Reymond, FLOW general manager for Anguilla. “Creating a beautiful environment is important to the well-being of both our residents and our guests, and we are proud to be a part of this effort.”
Work on the beautification project, which began on July 26, is slated for completion by July 29, 2024.
