Ranses Matta has joined the Expedia Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP) as new head of business development for the U.S. He will join the team responsible for promoting Expedia TAAP in the country.
"I am excited to join the team responsible for promoting Expedia TAAP in the USA. Expedia is a great brand, and its TAAP platform is a perfect tool for travel agents to access the depth of product and leading rates, all while earning competitive commissions. This is a terrific opportunity for me to combine my love of travel with my technical talents while also advocating for travel agents in the USA within Expedia,” said Ranses.
Phoebe Bush, Expedia TAAP director - the Americas, said she believed that Matta’s leadership, innovation, and capabilities would accelerate progress toward the TAAP program’s goals.
Matta brings with him 16 years of aviation and travel industry experience at American Airlines, American Airlines Vacations and Delta Air Lines, working with travel advisors in the U.S. and overseas. In his latest role, he was responsible for contract negotiations, strategic partnership implementation, B2B marketing, inside sales and digital travel advisor platforms for the travel trade.
Matta was an advocate of the travel agency community within American Airlines and has an in-depth understanding of the leisure travel advisor distribution model and expectations. He is also credited for his knowledge and insights on distribution platforms, supplier relationships, marketing strategies and business development.
