AmaWaterways Announces Sponsorship of New Show, “Places to Love”

AmaWaterways has announced a two-year sponsorship of the new travel show, “Places to Love,” hosted by travel expert Samantha Brown. The show debuted on PBS on January 6, 2018, with 12 more weekly episodes to follow. The show explores destinations around the globe and showcases the memorable personalities and qualities of the area.

In each half-hour episode of the show, Samantha Brown will seek out lesser-known spots where innovators are creating new travel experiences through food and drink, art and design, culture, or adventure. The show aims to provide viewers a curated list of new experiences that focus on not just how to visit a destination, but how to fully immerse in it.

The partnership comes on the heels of several recent announcements from AmaWaterways. The company will debut three news ships in 2019 – including AmaMagna, a ship twice the width of traditional river cruise ships but welcoming only 20 percent more guests. The ship’s design will have more expansive lounge, entertainment and spa areas; larger, more spacious staterooms with a majority reaching 355 square feet; and a choice of dining venues.

Additionally, AmaWaterways will be expanding its current range of hiking and biking tours and debuting its wellness program on six ships in 2018 with plans to have wellness hosts on all 23 ships in 2019.

AmaWaterways offers river cruises with 20 ships that sail Europe’s Danube, Rhine, Moselle, Main, Rhone, Seine, Garonne, Dordogne, Dutch and Belgian Waterways and Douro Rivers, Southeast Asia’s Mekong and Africa’s Chobe River. The cruise line also offers active shore excursions, on-board dining options, and amenities like heated swimming pools, massage salons, and a fitness room.
