Alberto Aliberti, who has served as president of Atlas Ocean Voyages since it rebranded from Mystic Cruises USA in 2019, will be leaving his role at the end of the month.
According to a statement provided to Travel Agent, the cruise line said, “Atlas Ocean Voyages announced that a new CEO/president for the brand will start in the first week of August 2022. Atlas is an established brand, and the new brand strategy will focus on its valued travel partners and bolster the brand’s sales and occupancy growth of its luxury expedition vessels. In September 2022 a new, small expedition ship, World Traveller, will join the fleet. The name of the new Atlas CEO/president will be announced soon.”
There’s no word on where Aliberti is heading or who will take over the helm.
Aliberti, previously, led strategic development and commercial operations at Mystic Invest and its subsidiary river-cruise company, DouroAzul, for nearly 15 years. He had also been a part of the shoreside management teams at Seabourn and Cunard.
Atlas Ocean Voyages focuses on active and adventurous experiences in destinations such as Antarctica, the Baltics, Mediterranean, and Central and South America.
Recently, the line brought on Michael Shapiro to serve as cruise director for World Navigator—a role he’s held for 16 years across various small luxury ships. He was tasked with creating and delivering “engaging guest entertainment and programming, according to Aliberti.
Beyond its first vessel, World Navigator, currently in service, and World Traveller, joining this fall, the line expects to welcome three more in the coming years: World Seeker (2023), World Adventurer (2024) and World Discoverer (2024).
