Just a couple months away from launching the Avalon Envision, Avalon Waterways unveiled plans to roll out another new ship in 2020. Expected to sail the Rhine River, the Avalon View will mark the company’s 14th Suite Ship in Europe and its 17th worldwide.
Both the Avalon Envision and Avalon View are 443 feet long and offer two Royal Suites (300 square feet), 65 Panorama Suites (200 square feet) and 16 staterooms (170 square feet). The Avalon Envision, with “Eat Pray Love” author Elizabeth Gilbert as its godmother, will launch this April, offering river cruises along the Danube.
Starting this year, Avalon’s fleet consists entirely of Suite Ships with an average of age of six years. Most accommodations fall in the company’s Panorama Suite category. Available on two full decks on each ship in Avalon’s collection, these rooms feature open-air balconies with wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows. The Panorama Suites also offer large marble bathrooms and beds facing the window.
Avalon debuted its first ship in 2004 and its first Suite Ship just eight years ago in 2011. In addition to the two ships coming this year and next, the company’s European fleet includes Avalon Imagery II, Avalon Passion, Avalon Tranquility II, Avalon Tapestry II, Avalon Poetry II, Avalon Illumination, Avalon Impression, Avalon Expression, Avalon Artistry II, Avalon Visionary, Avalon Vista and Avalon Panorama.
