Azamara Club Cruises has announced a new, 360-degree virtual reality experience for travel agents and clients to use in vacation planning: Azamara 3DI.
Using virtual reality technology, guests can tour a wide variety of experiences in 3D, including the onboard amenities of an Azamara ship or shore experiences, such as zip lining through a Costa Rican rainforest or taking a moonlit carriage ride in Cartagena, Colombia.
The new 3D videos work with the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, as well as desktop computers. Additionally, travelers and agents can access the videos through Android and iOS mobile devices, and either touch the screen to navigate the virtual tour or simply point the device in the direction they want to explore.
The VR experiences can also be shared on social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+.
“As travelers and travel partners research our offerings and itineraries, we need to arm them with the best tools possible to ensure they have the resources they need to make a well informed decision about which voyage is best for them,” said Larry Pimentel, president and CEO of Azamara Club Cruises. “Our new Azamara 3DI experiential series will be a game changer in vacation planning.”
To promote Azamara’s on and off ship experiences, Azamara will showcase the new technology at tradeshows and industry events using virtual reality headsets and headphones. The Azamara 3DI experience can also be viewed online in a 360-degree video at www.azamara3di.com.
