Azamara Cruises has unveiled its “Hidden Gems Sale,” offering all travelers $500 onboard credit, as well as a choice between complimentary Wi-Fi and a Premium Beverage Package for those who reserve a veranda or suite. The offer is available on select voyages booked between August 22 to October 30, 2024.
Travelers can take advantage of this onboard credit to embark on some of Azamara’s curated shore excursions. Azamara’s Extended Destination Days provide 10 or more hours in port, offering ample time to explore historical sites, discover local cultures or relax on beaches. Plus, Azamara’s small ships can dock at exclusive ports that larger vessels cannot reach, providing access to off-the-beaten-path destinations. Here are a few highlights of Azamara’s shore excursions:
- Nelson Mandela’s capture site in Durban (12-night South Africa Intensive Voyage onboard Azamara Quest) – Guests can drive into the countryside along a seemingly ordinary stretch of highway that gained significant historical importance on August 5, 1962. It was here that police arrested anti-apartheid activist Mandela, who was disguised as a chauffeur to avoid detection.
- Whale-watching safari by helicopter in Kaikoura (14-night New Zealand Intensive Voyage onboard Azamara Pursuit) – During the tour over Kaikoura’s Whale Sanctuary, guests will have extended views of the majestic mammals in their natural habitat and experience a scenic coastal landing, where they can enjoy the vistas and capture photos.
- Orange tree farm in Valencia (11-night Spain Intensive Voyage onboard Azamara Quest) – This excursion will immerse guests in Carcaixent’s orange heritage, starting with a journey through its historical origins and significance. They will discover the story behind the region’s oranges and visit a traditional 19th-century orchard where they can sample freshly prepared marmalades.
