Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line has announced plans to resume commercial sailings to Grand Bahama Island beginning Friday, September 27. Additionally, the line reports that it is adding sailings to a second destination, Nassau.
Since the devastating passage of Hurricane Dorian, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line had been conducting humanitarian aid cruises to Grand Bahama Island on the Grand Celebration, delivering supplies and hundreds of volunteers. Starting September 27, the ship will resume its two-night roundtrip sailings from Palm Beach to Freeport, offering travelers the chance to experience a Beach Getaway on the south side of Grand Bahama Island. Alternatively, travelers can opt to join the rebuilding effort by participating in a volunteer excursion, which the cruise line is currently planning with local organizations. Volunteer excursions are expected to include light manual labor, and as such, participants are required to wear athletic clothing and appropriate closed-toe footwear as a safety precaution, the cruise line said. Volunteer excursions must be requested and booked in advance through the cruise line.
Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line is offering special cruise fares to Grand Bahama Island starting at $109 per person and 50 percent off the second guest for all sailings this fall.
Starting October 12, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line will begin sailing to its second destination in the Bahamas, Nassau, onboard the Grand Classica. The cruise line said that Nassau had long been a destination of great interest, and that it had decided to add Nassau as a port of call based on current demand and guest feedback.
Cruise-only fares start at just $159 per person for round-trip Nassau sailings and departures will be available to book starting September 25. Travelers can expect details on shore excursions soon, the cruise line said.
Like the cruise line’s Grand Bahama Island sailings, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line will offer a cruise and stay program in Nassau, offering travelers the chance to book a cruise on the Grand Classica and either an all-inclusive vacation or a stay at one of the cruise line’s partner resorts. Cruise and stay options are still being finalized, but the program will include roundtrip cruises from Palm Beach to Nassau, roundtrip resort transfers, unlimited food and drinks at the all-inclusive properties, water sports, activities, and daily and nightly entertainment.
Bahamians currently in the United States and looking to return to the Bahamas may book a one-way sailing to Freeport aboard Grand Celebration at just $105 per person, beginning with the September 27 departure. Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line will continue to deliver donated supplies from its warehouse to Freeport during future commercial sailings, the cruise line said.
