Silversea is sailing the world stage. That is because bookings for Silversea’s Expedition World Cruise 2021 are opening on March 15. The Expedition World Cruise 2021—or the Uncharted World Tour—will take travelers to 107 of the world’s destinations.
Silversea’s Silver Cloud will depart Ushuaia, Argentina, on January 30, 2021; over 167 days, the ice-class crossover ship will tread to 30 countries across six continents, covering a total of 39,000 nautical miles. The Expedition World Cruise 2021 will host a plethora of travel experiences, with highlights including:
- Antarctica: World-cruising guests will explore the frozen continent by Zodiac, taking to land to witness landscapes and rare wildlife species.
- South Pacific: Guests will meet the descendants of the famous Bounty Mutineers in Pitcairn, after spending two days on Easter Island.
- French Polynesia: Guests will swim with rays in Bora Bora, explore Aitutaki’s lagoon, and discover a typical Samoan village.
To enrich the experience for guests, several world-class experts will join the voyage, offering workshops and lectures, and accompanying shore excursions. In addition to 70 members from Silversea’s industry-leading Expedition Team and Artist in Residence Antony Smith, more than 20 featured guest speakers will board Silver Cloud, including Felicity Aston MBE—Explorer, Scientist, Speaker & Author; Tim Severin—Explorer and Gold Medalist of the Royal Geographical and Scottish Geographical Societies; and Jo Ruxton—Co-Founder of the Plastic Oceans Foundation.
Events available on the voyage include a special bon voyage reception for world-cruising guests on the rooftop of Palacio Concha, a grand mansion in Chile’s Santiago; privileged access to Robert Louis Stevenson’s former home in Apia, Samoa Islands, for a private dinner; and a Viking farewell to round off the Expedition World Cruise 2021, which will comprise a culinary experience in Iceland’s Kjarnaskogur Forest.
While fares for Silver Cloud’s two-bedroom Owner’s Suite cost $500,000 per person for the duration of the 167-day voyage, the ship’s vista suites begin from $99,000 per person. As part of the voyage’s all-inclusive pricing, world-cruising guests will each receive complimentary expedition gear delivered directly to their suites. The kit will include a commemorative World Cruise Polar exploration parka, a waterproof backpack, and various other items of clothing and accessories.
In other Silversea news, as reported by our sister publication, Luxury Travel Advisor the cruise line announced a second refurbishment of Silver Wind. The updates will give the ship ice-class classification and improved cruising versatility.
