Carnival Cruise Line has announced that its newest Spirit-class ship, Carnival Luminosa—which was formerly Costa Luminosa—will set sail from Brisbane on November 6 before repositioning for seasonal service from Seattle to Alaska next May.
Carnival Luminosa will offer a range of seasonal itineraries from Brisbane between November 6 and April 13, 2023, including, three- and four-day cruises to Australian ports; six- and seven-day Great Barrier Reef and South Pacific sailings; eight- to 11-day voyages to destinations such as Noumea and Lifou Isle in New Caledonia, Port Vila and Mystery Island in Vanuatu, and Papua New Guinea and New Zealand; and a “Carnival Journeys” transpacific voyage as the ship repositions to Seattle.
From Seattle, Carnival Luminosa will sail a four-month Alaska schedule with 17 seven-day sailings, besides six- and eight-day sailings to Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway, Icy Strait Point and Tracy Arm Fjord. Completing its season in Alaska, the ship will operate another transpacific voyage back to Brisbane, stopping in first-time-for-Carnival destinations, including Kushiro, Aomori, Tokyo, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, besides Puerto Princesa and Bitung.

- 11-day “Carnival Journeys” Papua New Guinea cruise from Brisbane (November 19, 2023) – Conflict Islands, Alotau, Rabaul and Kiriwina Island
- 22-day “Carnival Journeys” transpacific sailing to Seattle from Brisbane (April 13, 2023) – Noumea, Suva, Papeete, Moorea and Honolulu
- 30-day Carnival Journeys Transpacific sailing to Brisbane from Seattle (September 14, 2023) – Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Hubbard Glacier, Kushiro, Aomori, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Puerto Princesa and Bitung
