Carnival Spirit to Sail Year-Round From Brisbane in 2020

Carnival Cruise Line has announced Carnival Spirit will become the brand’s first ship to home port in Brisbane. The announcement follows the ACCC’s approval of a new cruise ship terminal in Brisbane.

Carnival Spirit will arrive into its new home in 2020. She will sail year-round from Brisbane to the tropical archipelagos of Vanuatu and New Caledonia, as well as offer shorter cruises to destinations in North Queensland.

With more than 45 activities over 12 decks, Carnival Spirit provides a variety of experiences, offering Green Thunder, the fastest and steepest waterslide at sea, as well as three swimming pools, the child-free Serenity Retreat and more than 20 bars, lounges, and dining options.

Itineraries for Carnival Spirit’s 2020 Brisbane sailings will be announced mid-June 2018 with bookings opening in early July 2018. Carnival Australia’s arrangements with the Port of Brisbane remain subject to approval by the Foreign Investment Review Board.

Carnival Cruise Line is one of the largest cruise lines in the world with almost five million guests travelling every year. The cruise line has two ships deployed in Australia, including Carnival Spirit – currently the largest and newest cruise ship home ported year-round in Australia. Sister ship Carnival Legend will return to Australia in October 2018 following her Northern Hemisphere summer season cruising Alaska. Carnival Splendor will join the Australian Carnival fleet in December 2019 and become the newest and largest ship home ported year-round in Australia.
