Seabourn is headed back to Alaska this summer with a new expedition team leading the way. The Seabourn Sojourn will sail 11-, 12- and 14-day itineraries from Vancouver, British Columbia and Anchorage, Alaska, between June and September 2017.
During the voyages, guests aboard the Seabourn Soujourn will get to experience a variety of new shore excursions. The sailings will also offer Ventures by Seabourn, an optional program of guided kayak and Zodiac tours. Guests can explore Alaska’s Rudyerd Bay and hike on Davidson Glacier along with a skilled team of experienced wilderness experts, scientists and historians. Both shore excursions and ventures are available for an additional fee.
In addition to the expedition team, award-winning photographers will also be on board to offer digital photography coaching, providing tips for guests to capture images of the Last Frontier. Team members will host complimentary lectures on a variety of topics including: Whale Identification, Brown and Black Bears, Cetaceans of Alaska, History and Tribal Culture, Forestry Conservation and Glaciers.
The expedition team will be equipped with high-quality binoculars from Swarovski Optik. Through the line’s partnership with Swarovski, the expedition team will utilize long-range binoculars to search for wildlife and landscapes from on board the ship and ashore.
“The Alaska experience becomes more fulfilling in the company of qualified guides and experts who are engaging and excited to animate natural wonders for guests,” said Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn. “Our Alaska sailings are truly different, allowing travelers to see the rugged landscape from the comforts of ultra-luxury accommodations, and our expedition team is a key reason why guests will come away with memories to last a lifetime.”
