Jerne Partners With PBS Cruise Program to Promote Travel Advisors

Jerne, the platform connecting travel curators and experience providers, and PBS's “World’s Greatest Cruises” program have partnered to highlight the benefits of working with an expert local travel advisor when booking vacations. Additionally, viewers of “World’s Greatest Cruises” will have the opportunity to book cruises with Jerne’s community of verified top travel professionals in the U.S. and Canada.

“World’s Greatest Cruises” is the first and only cruise travel TV series on PBS. Season 1 is airing in three-quarters of the top 25 markets and on stations from coast to coast. “Border” PBS stations in the U.S. also broadcast into Canada, reaching all three of the top Canadian markets. Season 2 includes episodes with "transformative" cruise experiences in the Antarctic, the Arctic, North America, Europe and the Caribbean aboard Seabourn, Viking, Scenic, Emerald and Cunard ships.

Viewers who visit the program’s website (www.worldsgreatestcruises.com) are invited to connect with top travel advisors, as selected from Jerne’s verified members of its recognition program, The 1000. In order for a travel advisor to qualify for The 1000, they must demonstrate a minimum of $1.5 million in individual annual sales. Cumulatively, Jerne’s community of travel advisors has verified annual sales exceeding $1billion across its individual agency affiliations.

According to Jerne: Compared to other TV networks in the U.S., PBS travel program viewers are 27 percent more likely to take three-plus vacations per year, 37 percent more likely to engage a travel advisor and 34 percent more likely to have taken two cruises in the past three years. Engaged in their communities, they are among the most influential members of their professional and social spheres: 22 percent more likely to be a “community super-influential percent” and 19 percent more likely to be a “travel influential.”
