MSC Cruises has created a new management position to consolidate its Florida-based operations. Starting February 4, Ken Muskat will return to the company as its EVP Chief Operating Officer for the U.S., where he will directly oversee all major trade- and consumer-facing functions in the market.
“North America is quickly becoming our most important source market, thanks to the investments made in new hardware as well as infrastructure to meet growth in demand for our product by guests from across the U.S. and the overall region,” said MSC Cruises’ CEO Gianni Onorato in a written statement.
In his new role, Muskat will report to Roberto Fusaro, MSC Cruises’ president for North America, and will directly manage all travel trade-facing functions as well as Hotel Operations, Contact Center, Revenue Management, Marketing and Communications. The new position now places the local management in charge of the company’s upcoming Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve project and the recently-announced development of a new, dedicated MSC Cruises terminal at PortMiami.
“Wanting to ensure that especially the Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve gets the necessary attention from our local team to guarantee it meets and exceeds the expectations of North American consumers and travel agent partners made this the next natural step,” Onorato added.
Ken Muskat will work together with Fusaro and Rick Sasso, Chairman North America, out of MSC Cruises’ U.S. headquarters in Fort Lauderdale.
