Lindblad Expeditions – National Geographic is updating its pricing to make guests’ bar tab and crew gratuities complimentary on all departures of National Geographic Explorer and National Geographic Orion.
The new policy, which will start in April, will effectively create “inclusive pricing” the line said in a statement provided to Travel Agent. The line also does not charge for activities and excursions, including pre- and post-cruise city explorations, or Zodiac, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, and hiking explorations. Rates also include onboard lectures, all meals, equipment, photo instruction, wellness classes and group flight transfers.
The new policy does not include the line’s upcoming cruise ships, the National Geographic Quest and National Geographic Venture.
The National Geographic Quest is slated to launch June 26 with 50 cabins, 22 of which will have balconies and eight of which that can be configured into four adjoining cabins for families. In terms of equipment the ship will have a fleet of 24 sea kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling equipment, and Zodiacs, as well as a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), video microscope, and a hydrophone and bow-cam designed for immediate bow deployment. Its sibling ship, National Geographic Venture, will set sail the following June. Both ships re the first new builds in Lindblad’s history and the only purpose-built expedition ships designed and built from scratch in the United States.
Inclusive pricing is also available on two of Lindblad’s seasonal charters: the Sea Cloud, which sails in the Mediterranean and Caribbean, and Lord of the Glens, which sails in Scotland.
