American Cruise Lines' newest riverboat, the 175-passenger American Melody, is now sailing the Mississippi River. Guests embarked at Natchez, MS on Friday, September 3, and the vessel is now operating the American line's longest Mississippi River cruise to St. Paul, MN.
Originally, guests were scheduled to embark in New Orleans, but due to Hurricane Ida, the embarkation port for this specific voyage was shifted to Natchez.
Throughout American Melody’s inaugural season, guests will be treated to complimentary pre-cruise nights on board, cocktail parties, Mississippi-inspired gourmet dinners and inaugural season gifts.
Mississippi Voyages
Through the end of December 2021, American Melody also will sail eight-day "Upper Mississippi River" cruises between St. Louis, MO, and St. Paul, as well as eight-day "Lower Mississippi River" cruises including roundtrip itineraries from New Orleans and cruises for the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's holidays.
American Melody's public spaces include a multi-level, sky-lit atrium, plus indoor and outdoor lounges, a grand dining room, a casual outdoor café, a large fitness center and more.
A top-deck Skywalk (see photo above) features an ellipse cut-out that's cantilevered over the ship’s 4th deck.
The American-built, U.S.-flagged riverboat offers spacious, all-balcony accommodations (staterooms, single cabins and suites) that range from 250 square feet to 650 square feet.
American Melody, the fourth in the modern riverboat series, is ACL's second new modern riverboat to debut this year; American Jazz began cruising in March 2021. Two more in the modern riverboat series, American Symphony and American Serenade, will debut in 2022.
