Norwegian Cruise Line has announced plans to open a new Scarpetta concept restaurant onboard the Norwegian Encore. The cruise line has partnered with LDV Hospitality to bring Onda by Scarpetta to the new cruise ship, which launches this fall.
The new restaurant is the first of its kind, Norwegian said, and it will join Scarpetta locations in New York, the Hamptons, Miami, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Newport and London. The menu will spotlight Italian cuisine, with a focus on seafood and signature dishes including Yellowtail Crudo, Branzino, pastas made in-house daily such as Scarpetta’s famous Spaghetti Tomato and Basil, and Italian desserts.
Onda’s design will aim to capture the core aesthetic of the land-based Scarpetta restaurants, incorporating natural materials such as walnut and calacatta gold marble. The space will also offer expansive views, either from within the restaurant or while dining outdoors on the ship’s Waterfront area.
