"We understand the inconvenience and frustration this disruption may cause, and we appreciate the continued understanding of our loyal guests and travel agent partners," the line's statement said. "We will share additional information as appropriate."

COVID-Related Situation

One of the canceled voyages was that of Norwegian Getaway, which had been scheduled to depart today from PortMiami. Here's what NCL said: "As we continue to navigate the fluid public health environment, while focusing on delivering a safe experience for all on board, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Norwegian Getaway’s Jan. 5, 2022 voyage, due to COVID-related circumstances."

That ship was scheduled to sail a nine-day Caribbean itinerary roundtrip from Miami and returning on January 14, 2022.

In its statement about all the canceled cruises, the line said "our rigorous health and safety protocols include a mandatory 100 percent vaccination policy for our guests and crew coupled with universal pre-embarkation testing of guests at the terminal, mask requirements on board and numerous additional layers of protection against COVID-19."

The line also said it will never compromise on health and safety and it will continue to take all appropriate action to ensure everyone’s well-being and to protect public health.
