Pandaw Cruises to Launch New Ship for Kerala Backwaters in India

Pandaw has announced plans to launch its fourth ship in India in October 2025. The new-build, 10-cabin vessel named Kochi Pandaw will sail the backwaters of Kerala in South India. The Kerala backwaters offer an incredible diversity of culture in addition to scenery, beaches and cuisine.

The new vessel will include the classic Pandaw cabin and wraparound promenade decks. It will be built in a shipyard in Kochi under the supervision of the Pandaw team, who will collaborate with Kochi-based naval architects on the project.

The Kochi Pandaw will offer an eight-day round-trip itinerary from Kochi port, visiting the main towns and remote areas of the backwaters with nearly 560 miles of waterways that connect rivers with lakes. The region is known for its scenery and cultural heritage. Guests can enjoy visits to ancient churches, temples, villages and beaches of the Malabar coast. It is anticipated that many Pandaw regulars will combine this route with a river expedition on the Ganges or Brahmaputra, where Pandaw is well established as a river cruise operator.

Good to know: Cochin International Airport has flights connecting to Europe with the Middle Eastern airlines and direct flights to most Southeast Asian cities in addition to domestic flights connecting to most major Indian cities.
