Princess Cruises has put its inventory inside ChatGPT. The line says it is the first global cruise brand with a native app on the platform, letting users search, compare, and price sailings in plain conversation, then carry on into the Princess booking flow. The integration was built with Mobi.
Once a user installs the app and tags @princesscruises, ChatGPT can pull live data from princess.com covering more than 330 destinations across 17 ships. Travelers can filter by destination, date, and length; compare ships and itineraries; look up ports, shore excursions, cruisetours, and onboard packages; and check current pricing and availability. Follow-up questions stay in the same thread, so someone hunting for Alaska could ask which sailings call at Glacier Bay, which leave from Seattle, or how two itineraries differ without starting over.
“There is a broader shift in travel discovery as consumers increasingly use generative AI not simply to find information, but to help evaluate choices and plan increasingly complex trips,” said Neena Vicente, Princess Cruises vice president of digital commerce and experience. “This launch places Princess at the forefront of agentic commerce in the cruising industry, creating a new entry point into cruise discovery that inspires guests to find the vacation that is right for them.”
Rosemary DeAragon, head of technology and consumer industries at OpenAI, said the company is “building ChatGPT to help people move from discovery to action” and pointed to the Princess app as an example of how AI platforms and travel brands can work together on planning.
Mobi CEO Andrew Boch credited Princess with an early read on how AI will change brand discovery and said the groundwork being laid now should pay off as these channels grow in importance.
The app is ChatGPT-only for now. Princess says it plans to extend to other AI platforms as availability and technical requirements allow.
