Princess Cruises revealed its lineup of Alaska cruises for the 2020 season, which are on sale now. Running from May through September, the season features eight ships sailing 11 cruise-only itineraries and 25 ‘cruisetour’ trips.
Sailing round-trip from Los Angeles, Golden Princess will debut a full season of 14-day Inside Passage voyages, visiting Hubbard Glacier. Its sister ships Ruby Princess and Emerald Princess will sail seven-day Inside Passage itineraries out of Seattle, and Star Princess will sail a similar 10-day Inside Passage voyage from San Francisco.
Princess’ four other ships will sail the seven-day Voyage of the Glaciers itinerary. This will include the largest ship sailing in the Gulf of Alaska Royal Princess, as well as Grand Princess, Coral Princess, and the return of the smaller Pacific Princess.
The cruise line will also offer its enrichment program, North to Alaska, and Discovery and Animal Planet shore excursions. The enrichment program provides fresh Alaskan seafood and brings in local Alaskans to meet the guests and share their stories. The shore excursions will be aimed at helping passengers see the local Alaskan wildlife, including bears, whales, bald eagles and more.
Princess’ "cruisetour" trips combine a seven-day Voyage of the Glaciers cruise with three or more nights in the Alaska wilderness. The itineraries include scenic rail travel and stays at Princess-owned lodges. The 2020 season will debut the new 17-night Ultimate Cruisetour, offering 10 nights on land, two nights at each Princess Wilderness Lodge.
