Departing Miami January 5, 2021, Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ has announced a new world cruise that will take passengers to six continents, 30 countries, 56 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and 61 ports. The Seven Seas Mariner will sail through the Caribbean, down the coast of South America, across the Pacific to New Zealand and Australia, along the southern coast of Asia and through the Mediterranean, ending in Barcelona.
After leaving Miami, the ship will sail through the Caribbean to the Panama Canal, stopping in Antigua, St. Lucia, Grenada and more. Once in the Pacific, the Seven Seas Mariner will travel south along the coast, visiting the ancient adobe city Chan Chan, Machu Pichu, Pisco’s Nazca Lines and the moai statues on Easter Island.
Passengers will then travel across the Pacific, visiting the Pitcairn Islands, Tahiti, French Polynesia and Samoa along the way. Guests will spend nearly a month sailing around New Zealand and Australia seeing a wide variety of sites, from the lesser-known Bay of Islands to the world-famous Great Barrier Reef.
Guests will spend the next leg of the trip traveling along the southern end of Asia, starting with the islands in the southeast and finishing with a transit of the Suez Canal. In the process, the Seven Seas Mariner will stop in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, Oman, the UAE, Jordan and Egypt. Highlights include seeing the Hajar Mountains in the UAE and the ruins of Petra in Jordan.
The last stretch of the world cruise spans the Mediterranean from Jerusalem to Barcelona, visiting Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Monaco and France on the way. Some highlights are the old city of Acre near Jerusalem, the medieval city Rhodes in Greece and the archeological site of Troy in Turkey.
The Seven Seas Mariner fits 700 guests and provides a staff-to-guest ratio of 1 to 1.6. The ship just finished a multi-million-dollar refurbishment this year, adding updated public guest spaces.
