European cruise company Riviera River Cruises has christened its ninth ship and plans to launch three more by the end of 2019. The 167-passenger MS Robert Burns will be followed by the MS Douro Splendour in August.
The all-suite MS Robert Burns will sail along the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers during its first year. It will carry out a variety of the company’s itineraries, including Budapest to the Black Sea, Cruise the Heart of Europe and Enchanting Rhine & Yuletide Markets.
The smaller, 121-guest MS Douro Splendour will launch in August. The 262.5-foot ship, designed to fit through the Douro’s locks, includes a lounge and bar, restaurant, fitness room and spa.
In 2019, Riviera River Cruises will introduce another two new ships, the MS William Wordsworth and the MS George Eliot. The new ships will include a panoramic observation lounge, main restaurant, wellness area, boutique and a second, more casual restaurant.
The 167-guest all-suite MS William Wordsworth will sail itineraries along the Danube. The ship’s Deluxe Balcony Suites on the Diamond Deck will include access to a small private balcony. The ship also features a fitness center and spa.
MS George Eliot, a 132-guest ship, will sail on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers and their tributaries. Like the MS William Wordsworth, Deluxe Balcony Suites on the Diamond Deck come with a small private balcony.
