Riviera River Cruises’ two new ships launching in 2025 will sail itineraries on Europe’s Danube and Douro Rivers. Riviera Radiance will be based on the Danube River and will sail six itineraries, including an itinerary exclusively for solo travelers and three holiday itineraries, while Riviera Rose will be based on the Douro River and will sail one itinerary.
Riviera Radiance's six itineraries on the Danube River include:
- The eight-day “Blue Danube” and “Blue Danube for Solo Travelers” itineraries with tours and visits of the Esztergom Basilica, Bratislava, Dürnstein, Melk Abbey, Linz or Salzburg, Vienna and Budapest. Guests can also enjoy a classical quartet recital and a Hungarian folklore show onboard.
- The 15-day “Budapest to the Black Sea” itinerary with tours and visits of Kalocsa, Belgrade, Pleven, Bucharest, Constanta, Novi Sad, Vukovar, Osijek, Budapest, Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi, the Churches of Ivanovo, Belogradchik Rocks and Mesolithic Lepenski Vir. Travelers will enjoy scenic drive into the Puszta with an equestrian show; cruising through Iron Gates Gorge and into the heart of the Danube Delta; a Bulgarian folklore show onboard; a Serbian musical performance on board; and a Hungarian folk music show onboard.
- The six-day Danube’s “Imperial Cities & Yuletide Markets” itinerary with tours and visits of Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna and Christmas markets in each, plus a classical quartet recital onboard.
- The eight-day “Christmas on the Danube” itinerary with tours and visits of the Esztergom Basilica, Bratislava, Melk Abbey, Linz or Salzburg, Vienna; Budapest and Schönbrunn Palace. Also included is a classical quartet recital onboard, a Hungarian folk lore show onboard and a Christmas Day gala dinner.
- The six-day “New Year on the Danube” itinerary with tours and visits of Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna and Schönbrunn Palace and its yuletide market, as well as a classical quartet recital, a Hungarian folklore show and a New Year’s Eve gala dinner, plus midnight drinks and canapés.
The 443-foot Riviera Radiance has 89 cabins, including Riviera’s largest-ever suites, and amenities like a new split-level bar and restaurant, a bistro with open kitchen, a new third restaurant with tasting courses inspired by the rivers of Europe, a sun deck with pool, a fitness center, and a spa and wellness area.
Riviera Rose, alternatively, will sail the eight-day “Highlights of the Douro Valley & Salamanca” itinerary with six visits and tours, including Mateus Palace Gardens, Castelo Rodrigo, Lamego, Pinhão and Porto; two visits to local quintas with a guided tour, meal and wine tasting; a flamenco performance with lunch in the city of Salamanca; and choice of guided excursion to Vila Nova de Gaia or Guimarães.
The 262-foot Riviera Rose has 57 cabins that will accommodate 114 passengers and amenities that include an intimate restaurant with informal seating, a sun deck with a sky lounge, bar and pool, and a fitness center.
