Riviera River Cruises is offering a new itinerary on France’s Saône and Rhône rivers for 2023.
The 11-day “Lyon, Provençal Rhône & the Camargue River Cruise” will be available from April to October, 2023 and includes 10 nights of cruise accommodations, all onboard meals, and 14 guided tours and visits.
From Lyon, guests will sail north on the Saône to Chalon, the gateway to Burgundy, south to Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône and the mouth of the river, then back to Lyon. Along the way, they can enjoy guided tours of Cluny Abbey, a Benedictine abbey; Beaune, Burgundy’s wine capital; Lyon, at the confluence of the Saône and Rhône; Avignon, home to the Popes’ Palace; the car-free cobbled streets of old town Uzès; Arles and its amphitheater; Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, a bustling seaside town; and Orange, a historically important trading post. They will also visit the Ardèche Gorges; the Pont du Gard; the Camargue wetland and the Ornithological Park of Pont de Gau; and savor wine tastings in Mâcon and Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and an olive oil farm visit at Les Baux-de-Provence.
