Rocco Forte Is Silversea’s Latest Hotel Partner

Rocco Forte Hotels and Silversea Cruises have announced a new partnership that brings the two privately owned Italian heritage hospitality companies together for the first time.

The partnership will see Silversea offer exclusive benefits to guests of Rocco Forte Hotels, including savings on rates, VIP treats at embarkation, a private culinary event for two and a dinner invitation at the Captain or Senior Officers table. Silversea guests staying at any Rocco Forte hotel will enjoy upgrades, transfers and unpacking services at the hotel, as well as VIP amenities.

The two companies said that the partnership makes sense because both offer hospitality with an Italian flair. Additionally, Rocco Forte Hotels Chairman Sir Rocco Forte and Silversea Chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio said that they have been personal friends for a long time.

The move isn’t the first major luxury hotel partnership for Silversea. Last year it signed a deal with The Peninsula Hotels that will bring enhanced programming to the Silver Muse’s 2019 Grand Asia Pacific Voyage, as well as other Asia-focused itineraries in the future. The Peninsula partnership brings local chefs and specialists from the luxury hotel brand onboard to interact with Silversea guests, and it also offers exclusive events in select cities in Asia.

Silversea’s new hotel partnerships come as major luxury hotel companies are making their own forays into cruise travel. The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is now set to debut in February 2020, and a big selling point of the new cruise brand, according to earlier statements by brand executives, is bringing the lifestyle of a Ritz-Carlton property onto the ocean. In fact, in its most recent update on the new brand, parent company Marriott International bragged that the new brand would make it “the only provider of luxury accommodations on both land and sea.”
