Sea Cloud to Undergo Extensive Refurbishment in Fall 2025

Sea Cloud Cruises announced that its flagship Sea Cloud will undergo an extensive renovation at the conclusion of the 2025 European season. On the eve of its 95th birthday, the 64-guest windjammer, originally built by Marjorie Merriweather Post and E.F. Hutton, will sail the 2025 season in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Canary Islands and the Atlantic before making its way to the shipyard for scheduled dry dock.

The update and restoration of Sea Cloud will once again be overseen by Adam Pazdzioch, managing director and chief technical officer of Sea Cloud Cruises. Pazdzioch’s tenure with Sea Cloud Cruises spans over 20 years, including overseeing team of new build Sea Cloud II and project manager during construction of Sea Cloud Spirit. He and the team also led the last major refurbishment and repairs dry dock of Sea Cloud in 2010. Since its extensive refurbishment in 2011, the windjammer conforms to the up-to-date SOLAS regulations (Safety Of Life At Sea).

In 2001, the Sea Cloud II was put into service and combined modern cruising experiences for highest demands with a range of sailing adventures. In 2021, the Sea Cloud Spirit entered service and offers even more amenities such as staterooms with private balconies, a wellness and spa area, ocean-view fitness, sun deck, and an alternate dining option on the Lido Deck.

As for that 95th birthday? Guests sailing on Sea Cloud and its fleet-mates Sea Cloud II and Sea Cloud Spirit can anticipate special shipboard and shoreside events in celebration of its history throughout the 2025 season.
