Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has announced new offerings for 2023, including itineraries, excursions and cruise extension options. In 2023, Uniworld will launch four new itineraries across Europe and beyond. The 15-day “Grand Central Europe” itinerary will cruise along three rivers—the Rhine, Main and Danube—through Switzerland, France, Germany and Austria. Highlights include climbing to the treetops of Bamberg while wandering the Bavarian Forest; and sailing the Wachau Valley.
The 10-day “Zurich & the Rhine River Valley” itinerary will sail along the Rhine and Main rivers through Switzerland, France and Germany. Guests can enjoy a canoe ride through the Mainschleife nature reserve and spend a day in Zurich. There will also be an option for guests to take a day trip to the spa town of Baden-Baden, home to two thermal baths and a casino.
A new eight-day “Belgian Holiday Markets” itinerary will showcase Belgium’s Christmas markets and holiday treats. Finally, a 46-night “Rivers of the World” cruise will depart on May 20, 2023, taking guests to nine countries aboard five luxury ships. Combining both cruise and land, itinerary highlights include a visit to the UNESCO-protected temples of Abu Simbel in Cairo; exploring Schönbrunn Palace, the former imperial summer residence during the reign of Maria Theresa in Vienna; experiencing the Moulin Rouge in Paris; and a day in the Portuguese towns of Cacais and Sintra.
Existing Uniworld itineraries are being revamped for 2023 in Italy and Vietnam. Aboard the S.S. La Venezia, guests can enjoy the “Milan, Venice & the Jewels of Veneto” itinerary. New inclusions are a Po Delta sailing to witness Italy’s only delta and largest national reserve of wetlands; a bragozzo ride and wine tasting at the Ca’Zen villa in Chioggia; and a glass-blowing demonstration in Murano.
Additionally, the “Timeless Wonders of Vietnam & Cambodia” itinerary will go from 13 to 15 days, with two added days in Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi at the end or beginning of the journey.
Uniworld’s “Nights Out” private evening experiences will be included on almost every European itinerary in 2023. New experiences include an evening at Faber-Castell in Nuremberg, a German pencil dynasty founded in 1761, on the “Delightful Danube” itinerary; an after-hours visit to Bassins des LumieÌres in Bordeaux on the “Brilliant Bordeaux” sailing; and a private visit to Saint Sava church in Belgrade with a concert from the boys’ choir and brandy tasting from the monks on the “Highlights of Eastern Europe” trip.
For an extra cost, new immersive shore excursions will be available to guests on the “Masterpiece Collection” portfolio. These optional excursions include activities that showcase a destination’s culture, sights and cuisine. In 2023, Uniworld guests will have the option to visit the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam; take a Bavarian country cooking class, visit a Bavarian farm or enroll for a sausage-making workshop in Germany; and explore Germany’s Black Forest.
Uniworld’s extensions packages include a range of hotel options, transfers and a dedicated destination expert to escort guests along the way. New extensions include two nights in Interlaken in conjunction with the “Remarkable Rhine & Historic Holland” itinerary with a visit to Jungfraujoch; four nights at the Red Sea Post in conjunction with the “Splendors of Egypt & The Nile” trip with a visit to the St. Catherine Monastery; a four-night rail add-on to/from Venice and Zurich; and a four-night roundtrip rail add-on to/from Budapest.
