Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection is adding a fifth Super Ship to its fleet. In spring 2018, the River Beatrice will be transformed into the S.S. Beatrice after an extensive bow-to-stern renovation.
The S.S. Beatrice will be the river cruise line’s first vessel to be upgraded to a Super Ship, said Uniworld President and CEO Ellen Bettridge. The project follows the launch of the S.S. Joie de Vivre earlier this year.
The design team from Uniworld’s sister brand, Red Carnation Hotels, will lead the project. All public spaces and rooms will be redesigned with and original artwork, as well as new guest amenities.
The S.S. Beatrice will aim for a fresh, sleek look with a graceful bow, redesigned lounge and an elegant grand staircase – a signature design element of Uniworld’s Super Ships. Additional dining venues will include a private space to replace the Captain’s Lounge and Library. Two new Royal Suites measuring 375 square feet and an additional Owner’s Suite are being created. The ship’s 12 existing suites will be refreshed, and Uniworld has added connecting rooms, which are ideal for families traveling together.
The S.S. Beatrice’s inaugural voyage will take place on April 4, 2018, coinciding with the official launch of U by Uniworld, the company’s new brand and the first river cruise line exclusively designed for travelers ages 21-45.
