Variety Cruises, the family-run leader in small-ship cruising, is bringing back its popular “Mystery Cruise” featuring new destinations, following the success of its inaugural uncharted adventure last year in celebration of the company’s 75th anniversary. This year’s sailing onboard Variety Voyager will once again be hosted by the company’s third-generation CEO, Filippos Venetopoulos. The sailing will depart from Valletta on June 21 and end in Naples.
The “Mystery Cruise” was designed to be an immersive experience, offering glimpses of cultures, flavors and traditions in Italy and Malta that remain veiled to most. Travelers can expect a journey filled with unique offerings, such as visits to a secret island lost to time, a forgotten fishing village and hidden coves. Prices start at $4,890 per person; bookings made by March 31, 2025 will receive 20 percent off. Rates include:
- Accommodation in double or twin cabins with private SH/WC & air conditioning
- Half-board: Buffet breakfast and one meal daily, focusing on local specialties, fun barbecue, pizza party, crew farewell night
- Welcome and farewell cocktails
- Four expert-led excursions
- Two traditional meals during shore excursions
- Several mystery activities and tastings both onboard and ashore
- Coffee, tea and water
- Wi-Fi
- English-speaking cruise escort
Variety Cruises is known for offering access to destinations often unreachable by larger ships, appealing to the increasing traveler interest in discovering hidden gems and less crowded locations. The company hosts around 50 guests per sailing with a crew of 20, and provides its customers with experiences that are in-depth and community-driven while leaving a minimal footprint behind. All proceeds from the trip will go towards Variety Cares, the company’s nonprofit foundation, which supports initiatives striving for clean oceans, gender equality and education.
