Victoria Cruises, a river cruise operator that sails China’s Yangtze River, has launched a new optional excursion to experience the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" live action musical and acrobatic performance. The musical presents historical scenes with elaborate costumes and 3D holographic projections in an outdoor setting on Three Gorges Harbour in Zhongxian, with the Yangtze River as its stage.
The "Feng Yan San Guo" excursion will be operated (time permitting) for passengers departing Chongqing on the four-day Three Gorges Highlights itinerary or eight-day Three Gorges Explorer journey on the Victoria Grace or Victoria Sophia.
The excursion is priced from $47 per passenger and may fluctuate based on currency exchange rates. Passengers who do not purchase the optional excursion may remain onboard for various shipboard activities.
Since its first ship edged out of port in 1994, New York-based Victoria Cruises has been operating luxury cruises on China's Yangtze River, with each ship earning a five-star rating from the China National Tourism Administration.
Victoria Cruises has earned awards and recognition over the years including the 2011 TravelAge West WAVE Award Editor's Pick for Best River Cruise Line as well as Best New River Cruise Ship in 2010 with the launch of the Victoria Jenna. In that same year, Travel Weekly also selected the Victoria Jenna as a Silver Award Winner for the Magellan Awards' River Cruise Ship category. The cruise line operates a variety of itineraries on the Yangtze ranging from four to eight days.
