Viking announced its return to China as the 930-guest Viking Yi Dun, formerly the Viking Sun, completed its first voyage from Shanghai to Hong Kong (Shenzhen). The launch of Viking’s new China itineraries was commemorated in Shanghai.
New Asia Voyages in 2025
Viking announced that it will expand the Asia program in 2025, with new itineraries that include Japan. Sailing September through November, Viking’s new 2025 Asia voyages include:
- Jewels of Japan & China – This 15-day voyage from Beijing to Tokyo will explore the German heritage of Qingdao, Shanghai, Jeju and Miyazaki. Travelers can take in views of Mt. Fuji in Shimizu, and enjoy overnight stays in Hiroshima and Osaka.
- Classic China Discovery – On this 20-day sojourn from Hong Kong to Beijing, travelers will visit the Great Wall of China, marvel at Xi’an’s Terra Cotta Warriors, and more.
- Pearls of Japan & China – On this 22-day sailing from Tokyo to Beijing, guests can marvel at Mt. Fuji from Shimizu and enjoy overnight stays in Osaka and Hiroshima. Other highlights include Miyazaki, Jeju, Shanghai, Tibet (Xizang) and Xi’an.
- Gems of China & Japan – This 22-day voyage from Beijing to Tokyo includes Qingdao, Shanghai, Jeju, Miyazaki and views of Mt. Fuji over Shimizu. An included land package explores Xi’an, Tibet (Xizang) and Chengdu.
- Wonders of China – This 22-day itinerary sails roundtrip from Beijing with visits to Shanghai, Pingtan Island, Shenzhen and Tibet (Xizang). Highlights include the Potala Palace and the Great Wall of China.
- Best of China – On this 22-day itinerary from Hong Kong to Beijing, guests will sail China’s eastern coast and delve into its diverse cultures, cuisines and landscapes. Highlights include spotting the giant panda, journeying into the Himalayas in Tibet (Xizang), admiring the Terra Cotta Warriors and exploring the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China.
