Virgin Voyages has taken delivery of Resilient Lady, its third vessel. The mid-size ship weighs 110,000 gross tons, like its sister ships Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady.
Delivered by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri in the Sestri Ponente shipyard in Genoa, Resilient Lady will embark on its inaugural voyage around the Greek Isles on May 14, 2023. The ship will make stops in Santorini, Rhodes, Bodrum and Mykonos before returning to its home port in Piraeus, Athens. The ship will sail two, eight-night itineraries including the “Greek Island Glow” with the aforementioned route, and the “Adriatic Sea and Greek Gems,” complete with calls in the cities of Split, Dubrovnik, Kotor and Corfu.
After its inaugural season in the Mediterranean, Resilient Lady will embark on a 44-night repositioning voyage, heading Down Under for a winter season in Australia and New Zealand. Starting October 22, 2023, the ship will depart Athens before stopping at exotic ports including Cairo, Dubai, Bali, Mumbai, Phuket and Singapore. The ship will arrive in Sydney on December 4, 2023 for a series of celebrations, media sneak peeks and more.
The ship has a hydrodynamic hull design, alternative technologies that reduce emissions, as well as Climeon technology. Resilient Lady’s design is such that 93 percent of cabins offer an ocean view, while 86 percent have outdoor balconies with the brand’s signature Yellow Leaf Hammocks.
The ship’s interiors—1,330 Sailor cabins and 78 RockStar quarters—include high-tech touches, such as tablets that allow passengers to control room temperature, opening and closing of blinds, music, television and fun mood lighting, all at the push of a button. Resilient Lady also offers the brand’s six "Michelin-inspired" restaurants, more than 20 eateries, live entertainment, design-forward bars and ocean-side hangout retreats.
