Voyages to Antiquity has cancelled 10 cruises in the Aegean, the Mediterranean and Northern Europe through the end of August. The voyages had been due to operate on the Aegean Odyssey, which will need to undergo repairs to its starboard engine while it is out of service.
According to the latest statement on the cruise line’s website, the cancelled itineraries are:
- May 2, 2019 – The Black Sea & Greek Islands
- May 13, 2019 – Classical Greece & Southern Italy
- May 23, 2019 – Renaissance Italy & Historic Islands
- June 4, 2019 – European Connoisseur
- June 18, 2019 – Land of the Midnight Sun
- July 3, 2019 – Baltic Capitals & St Petersburg
- July 16, 2019 – The Norwegian Fjords
- July 30, 2019 – Iceland, Faroes & Shetlands
- August 14, 2019 – The Three Rivers

Grand Voyages containing any of the listed segment cruises will also be affected, the cruise line said. The line’s current roundtrip cruise out of Athens, which departed April 26 to explore the Greek Islands, will continue as planned.
Voyages to Antiquity said that it will contact all guests affected by the cancellations, offering them a full refund. The cruise line will also work with its travel advisor partners in order to minimize any disruption.
“Voyages to Antiquity would like to apologize for the inconvenience these cancellations will cause to our guests,” the cruise line said in a written statement. “The mechanical issue experienced was unavoidable and unforeseeable.”
Following the dry dock, the Aegean Odyssey is scheduled to return to service in time for its Rome – Venice itinerary, which departs September 7.
