It’s been a busy week in the luxury segment of the cruise world.
This week the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, the new luxury cruise brand from Ritz-Carlton Hotels, announced that the launch date for its first luxury yacht has been pushed back to June 13, 2020, due to delays at the shipyard. The ship, which had been originally scheduled to sail its inaugural voyage in February 2020, will now sail its first itinerary on June 14, 2020. Guests affected by the change will be invited to rebook their voyage on any of the brand’s voyages in 2020, or its newly announced 2021 itineraries. The brand will extend its voyage fare savings when guests rebook their future voyage or full reimbursement for guests’ paid cruise fare and airfare and hotel change fees. This includes air booked directly by guests, as long as documentation is provided, the cruise line said.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises, meanwhile, announced plans to launch a new spa brand: Serene Spa & Wellness. Originally designed for the upcoming Seven Seas Splendor, the cruise line said that it has decided to expand the concept to its entire fleet, starting this winter. The new brand will offer treatments, techniques and ingredients inspired by the destinations to which the cruise line sails worldwide. It will debut on Seven Seas Explorer’s December 7, 2019, sailing, before rolling out to the rest of the luxury line’s fleet.
Finally, shoreside, Royal Caribbean opened bookings for the new premium area of its recently revamped private island destination in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay. Called the Coco Beach Club, it’s billed as the home to the first over-water cabanas in the Bahamas. In addition to the 20 floating cabanas and 10 landside cabanas, the area is also home to a club house, an oceanfront infinity pool, complimentary dining at The Grille at Coco Beach, day beds and elevated amenities and services.
