This Week in Cruise Recovery: New Cruise Port and Product Updates

Demonstrating cruise industry resiliency and growth in 2022, Carnival Cruise Line, in cooperation with the Grand Bahama Port Authority and the Government of The Bahamas, broke ground on a new Grand Bahama Island cruise port destination. Opening in 2024, it will offer a pier that can accommodate two Excel-class ships. The cruise port will also have an area designated as a nature reserve and an interior pool feature, along with many Bahamian-operated retail, food and beverage options.

Participating in the Grand Bahama Island groundbreaking ceremony were Bahamas Prime Minister Philip Davis; Arnold Donald, CEO, Carnival Corporation; Christine Duffy, president, Carnival Cruise Line; Sarah St. George, acting chairman, Grand Bahama Port Authority and many other dignitaries.
