Windstar Cruises has updated its COVID-19 related protocols. The small-ship cruise line will no longer require a pre-embarkation COVID-19 test for guests, unless it is required by one of the countries on its list of scheduled itineraries. These travel updates will be applicable to cruises departing on or after September 6, 2022.
As part of its “Beyond Ordinary Care” health and safety program, Windstar will still require all guests to be fully vaccinated. It will also be necessary for guests to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. The small-ship cruise line will also follow the local rules and regulations of all the countries it visits. As of now, Canada, Greece, Australia and New Zealand (subject to change) require COVID-19 pre-embarkation tests for guests onboard any ship in their respective waters.
“Safety and wellness are our first concern, and these new procedures will simplify the process of sailing with us on a fully vaccinated ship,” said Chris Prelog, president of Windstar Cruises.
All Windstar crew are fully vaccinated and nearly all crew have received booster shots. Pre-cruise testing is no longer required in most countries and the updated guidelines are subject to the local regulations of applicable home ports and destinations.
