Las Vegas is a city built on fun, which means there are great places to party, eat, relax and explore. Here’s a list of where to go and what to do during a getaway weekend with the girls in the entertainment capital of the world.
Where to Eat
Hash A Go Go: It’s been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and this place has three different locations across the city – Plaza, Rio and LINQ. This restaurant has been named “Best Breakfast in Las Vegas” by Yahoo! News Traveler along with “Best Breakfast, Editor’s Pick” by the Las Vegas Review Journal. Power up with a variety of different house hashes, farm scrambles, eggs benedict or pancakes and waffles – which can also be accompanied by the restaurant’s award winning BLT Mary cocktail. If it’s a girls getaway in Sin City you’re searching for, you might as well start drinking early.
Aburiya Raku: This authentic Japanese restaurant has been referred to as one of the best restaurants in Vegas. Zagat said that this brand of Japanese cuisine is “like you’ve never had before.” For some extra fun, it offers a monthly sake sampler featuring three different authentic Japanese sakes. Lines are out the door for this place at all hours for a reason.
Rose. Rabbit. Lie.: This “modern supper club” allows visitors to grab a bite while enjoying live music and other entertaining performances, such as blues singers, dancers and even jugglers. Dancers visit tables and sing to guests while they eat, creating an engaging, immersive and exciting dining experience. This club-restaurant hybrid received the “People Love Us On Yelp” 2017 award and made it on to OpenTable’s list of Top 100 Spots in America.
Drinking & Partying
Vegas “Pool Parties”: Soak up the sun all day long at one of the city’s pool parties. Dive into the pool and a few drinks at Daylight at Mandalay Bay or the Aquatic Club at Palazzo. Daylight “emulates the clubs of Ibiza,” so guests are sure to have a blast at this venue, where names as big as Ice Cube, Rick Ross and Flume have all been hosted. The Aquatic Club offers its recently renovated adults-only pool area, where girly drinks like the watermelon and vodka Tee Time are served, along with booze-based popsicles and ice cream bars from the “Prohibition Treat Truck.”
Cool Rooftop Bars: The city also has a plethora of cool rooftop bars to enjoy whether beneath the city’s hot rays of sunshine or the glitz and glam of the nighttime neon lights. There’s the Voodoo at The Rio, where the Witch Doctor is a specialty drink guests shouldn’t leave without trying. There’s also the Marquee at the Cosmopolitan, where guests can soak in the atmosphere of the warm, twinkly lights while taking a dip in the pool and sipping on a fruity cocktail.
Looking to rage? Visit the Omnia at Caesar’s Palace, the XS at Wynn Encore, the Jewel at Aria and more to dance all night long to top 40 jams along with electronic and EDM artists and DJs like Zedd, Steve Aoki, Tiësto, Major Lazer, Diplo and Skrillex.
Instagram-worthy Sightseeing, Adventures & Experiences
Seven Magic Mountains: These colorful structures can be found along Interstate 15, about 10 miles south of Las Vegas. This is a public installation curated by Ugo Rondinone, a Swiss-born experimental mixed-media artist. These seven “mountains” are stacked 30 feet high with boulders, located smack in the middle of the desert. Going during the day is recommended, as the colors are even more accentuated in the sunlight.
The Neon Museum: A fun-meets-immersive-meets-historic experience can be found here on select days this summer, where the museum will be hosting outdoor hot yoga in the Neon Boneyard. These hot yoga sessions, scheduled for July 19 and August 2, 16 and 30, will be taught by certified instructor Eileen Lorraine. This also gives visitors a perfect excuse to visit this landmark museum featuring signs that have lit up Sin City for decades.
The High Roller at The LINQ Promenade: This is the tallest observation wheel in the world, eclipsing both the London Eye and the Singapore Flyer at 520 feet in diameter. The wheel takes 30 minutes to complete one full revolution and has 28 glass chambers that can hold up to 40 people at a time, offering riders an unforgettable panoramic view of the city below.
Shows to See
Fremont Street: On this famous, a pedestrian-only street, travelers walking through can experience music and shows each night. There are often street performers and other entertaining acts galore. Visitors will also be mesmerized by the music and visual shows that play overhead nightly.
The Miss Behave Game Show: She’s flirty, dirty and fun and has finally arrived in Las Vegas. Only adults 21 and over are permitted to this game show held at Bally’s Las Vegas, where participants will be exposed to their best and worst during interactive audience-inclusive games. Guests also have the chance to win a variety of prizes. There may be no rules to this game show, but there is a whole lot of confetti and fun.
Le Rêve – The Dream: This show has been voted “Best Production Show” in the city for seven consecutive years and takes place in an aqua theater-in-the-round. It includes a high dive to an underwater tango, aerial feats, and other surreal and mystifying performances.
When It’s Finally Time to Kick Back & Relax
Oleksandra Spa at Treasure Island: The Oleksandra Spa offers a broad range of massage therapies, including Swedish, therapeutic, traveler’s relief, hot stone, O Spa signature and traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massages, among others. Guests staying at Treasure Island can even enjoy in-room massages and treatments. Oleksandra also offers Russian Banya, or sweat bathing, which is a more humid sauna experience that has healing effects that date back centuries.
The Qua Baths & Spa: This spa received the Desert Companion's Best of the City “Best Luxury Spa 2017” award, among other recognitions over the past few years. Some specialty spa treatment picks here are the Solo Journey: Hydratherapy Facial or the Nobu Nagomi Ritual, which is perfect for parties and groups to do together. It offers seasonal treatments based on popular holidays and a snowfall experience in its Arctic Ice Room, plus it is the only spa in the world that offers Nobu brand treatments.
