Anguilla has had a lot to cheer about in March, as several major hotels have either reopened or begun accepting bookings following the devastation of Hurricane Irma back in September.
In case you lost track, here are the latest hotel updates from Anguilla.
Four Seasons Anguilla Reopens on Schedule
Back in early January, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla announced it would reopen March 23 following months of restoration due to the impact of Hurricane Irma.
Last week, that announcement came to fruition as Anguilla welcomed back one of its most popular luxury resorts.
“Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla enjoyed significant popularity with our guests from around the world during our first year of operation,” said Vince Parrotta, Four Seasons’ president of hotel operations in the Americas, in a written statement. “Travelers and and residence owners are eager to return and we’re happy to welcome them back to the beauty of Anguilla.”
Since the resort opened as the Viceroy Anguilla in 2010 and was converted to a Four Seasons in 2016, it has garnered much buzz amongst Millennial couples traveling with other couples, as well as Baby Boomers, for its intimacy and access to multiple beaches.
“We have worked tirelessly and leveraged Starwood Capital Group’s strategic relationships around the world to reopen as soon as possible,” said Roy Shanholz, vice president of hotel asset management at Starwood Capital Group. “I have been here through every step of this process and welcoming guests back and having our employees back to work has been my goal since day one.”

Belmond Cap Juluca Now Accepting Bookings
Belmond Cap Juluca in Anguilla is now taking bookings and will welcome guests starting November 17.
Located in the British West Indies on the coast of Anguilla, Belmond Cap Juluca, formerly just Cap Juluca, has 113 new guest rooms and suites – all with large private verandas or balconies. In May of 2017, Belmond, Ltd. announced that it had signed agreements to acquire Cap Juluca. The addition of the then 96-room resort marked an important milestone in the strategic development of the Belmond brand, which is committed to doubling the size of its portfolio by 2020.
Many of the accommodations offer large bathrooms that overlook walled botanical courtyards with a private seating area.
The three- and five-bedroom private villas have kitchens, large dining areas and private pools.
The new Spa and Fitness Centre is set among the resort’s gardens and offers views of the Caribbean.
The spa, designed to blend with the landscape, will offer a yoga pavilion, gym, and seven all-suite treatment villas – with private terraces and seating by the sea.
The new "CAP’s Cool Pool” and outdoor terrace has an infinity-edge pool, shaded botanical courtyard, and tree-lined sunbathing decks.
As far as dining goes, Pimms restaurant will serve Caribbean classics and Anguillan delicacies. Freshly squeezed fruit juices, smoothies, and snacks are on offer at the new Maundays Lounge and Pool Terrace. By night, Maundays’ service turns to ceviche and tapas as the rum cocktails flow. The Cap Shack, located on a remote stretch of Maundays Bay, offers mixed rum punches and freshly caught fish.

Zemi Beach House Offers Post-Hurricane Welcome Back Promotion
To celebrate Zemi Beach House's re-opening after the hurricanes in late 2017, the luxury hotel in Anguilla is offering a Welcome Back Promotion. From now through December 19, guests can book three nights and receive a fourth night for free. From April 15 through December 19, guests can book five nights and receive a sixth and seventh night free. Additionally, all rooms and suites will include a complimentary daily buffet breakfast.
The complimentary nights promotion is subject to availability and valid for booking until December 19. To receive the complimentary nights, the stay must be a minimum of three or five consecutive nights. Complimentary nights are not redeemable for future stays. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotions, packages or offers, and is applicable towards new bookings only.
Zemi Beach House is situated on Shoal Bay Beach in Anguilla. At Zemi Beach House, guests start their vacation with a private plane or sea shuttle to the hotel from St. Maarten. Once they arrive, guests can enjoy the hotel’s Thai House Spa, three bars, two restaurants, pools, fitness center, and a variety of water sports and beachfront activities.
Guests can enjoy casual beachfront dining at the hotel’s all-day restaurant, 20 Knots, serving Caribbean-style cuisine. Or, guests can try Stone, Zemi’s fine-dining restaurant that offers a seasonal menu of seafood, fish and sea-to-table entrees. Starting rates are $730 per night, and the hotel will be accepting reservations from February 15th onward.

Other Hotels Now Open on Anguilla
Other properties currently open are the CeBlue Resort in Crocus Hill; Carimar Beach Club, Frangipani Beach Resort and Meads Bay Villas on Meads Bay; Shoal Bay Villas, Serenity Cottages and Fountain Residences on Shoal Bay; and Paradise Cove Beach Resort in The Cove. Also, a brand new addition to Anguilla’s tourism product, the Quintessence Boutique Hotel in Long Bay, recently opened on January 1.
Anguilla also has an array of villas for the season, including Spyglass Hill in North Hill; Kishti Villas on Meads Bay; Cerulean in the West End; Champagne Shores in Lockrum, Arushi Villa on Rendezvous Bay, Zenaida in Sandy Hill; and Villa Paradise in Cul de Sac.
Another option this winter is Anguilla’s vacation apartments, self-catering units available for rental that offer both good value and convenience. La Vue Holiday Rentals and Royal Palm Holiday Apartments in South Hill; Elodias Beach Resort on Shoal Bay East; and West End Bay Holiday Suites in the West End are among the properties that are open for the season.
An additional 540 rooms are slated to come on stream by April, as some of the islands’ traditional five star resorts plan to reopen in the first quarter of 2018. Most of the island’s popular restaurants and beach bars are also already open for the season, including Tasty’s, Veya, Straw Hat, DaVida’s on Crocus Bay, Tokyo Bay, Elvis, Johnno’s, Falcon’s Nest and Hibernia.
The latest information about the island of Anguilla can be found at the Anguilla Tourism Board’s website, www.irma.ivisitanguilla.com. The website provides information about access to the island via air and sea, ground transportation, restaurants and attractions.
“We want to get the word out that Anguilla is open for business, and this site provides a wealth of information for those planning to visit Anguilla this winter,” said Donna Banks, chairperson of the ATB, in a written release when the site was launched in October.
According a statement posted on the news page, "On September 6th, Hurricane Irma passed over Anguilla -- fortunately both Hurricane Jose and Hurricane Maria, that followed in her wake, bypassed our island. Since Irma’s passage, Anguillians have come together to rebuild the island, with the overwhelming support of our stakeholder partners, a testament to the resilience and indomitable spirit of our people. As our chief minister has promised, we will be open for Christmas, and look forward to welcoming our visitors for the festive season."
