The Ministry of Health in Chile has updated its "Protected Borders Plan" to protect both, non-resident foreigners, and Chilean residents. Under this plan, there are three levels of alert for the international border. Currently, Chile is at Alert Level 1.
Starting September 1, non-resident foreigners (tourists) over the age of 18 must present a complete vaccination certificate issued by their country. If the person traveling does not have a vaccination certificate, they must present a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of departure.
Visitors no longer need a Mobility Pass, they can present the vaccine certificate issued by their country to go into hotels, restaurants, theaters, and public transportation. Travelers no longer need to complete the “Travel Affidavit” form. For travel inside of Chile, travelers will need to present their vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of departure.
Starting September 1, minors under 18 years old will not be subject to any entry requirements.
Visitors can enter Chile through dedicated airports in Santiago, Iquique, Antofagasta, and Punta Arenas. Visitors may also enter through land borders, including Paso Rio Don Guillermo, Paso Futaleufú, Paso Huemules, Paso Jeinimeni, Paso Monte Aymond, and Paso Los Libertadores.
