Delta has announced that, starting on March 24, 2018, its air service to Africa will receive a boost thanks to an all-new nonstop service from New York-JFK to Lagos, Nigeria. Flights on this route will operate three times a week. Alongside Delta’s existing four-times-weekly service from Atlanta, Delta now offers daily service to Lagos, the capital of Nigeria and its largest city.
Henry Kuykendall, Delta’s vice president-New York, said, “this new route to the African continent joins existing service from JFK to Dakar and Accra, and follows new trans-Atlantic routes to Lisbon, Berlin and Glasgow that began this spring. We’re proud to continue to grow and refine our network to serve the more than 27 million Delta customers that pass through New York every year.”
Travelers onboard the New York-JFK and Lagos service will be on Airbus A330-200 aircraft, which has 34 lie-flat seats with direct-aisle access in Delta One, 32 in Delta Comfort+ and 168 seats in the main cabin. Complimentary, chef-curated and locally sourced food and beverages will be provided in all cabins. Guests in the Delta One cabin also have access to Westin In-Flight Bedding, noise-canceling LSTN headphones and TUMI amenity kits.
Delta currently leads U.S airlines in Africa travel, servicing four cities: Accra, Ghana, Dakar, Senegal, Johannesburg, South Africa and Lagos, Nigeria. The new Delta New York-JFK – Lagos Service will operate as follows:
