As Irma continues to bring heavy rain and high wind to the southeastern United States, Florida resorts are beginning to reopen.
Walt Disney World reports that its theme parks and Disney Springs reopened Tuesday with normal, advertised operating hours. Special events, such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, will also take place. Disney’s water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, remain closed and should reopen later this week.
Tuesday’s hours of operation are:
- Magic Kingdom – 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., with an Extra Magic Hour beginning at 8 a.m. for Disney resort guests who weathered the storm
- Epcot – 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., with previously scheduled Extra Magic Hours from 9 – 11 p.m. for resort guests
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom – 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Kilimanjaro Safaris will open in the afternoon due to continued clean-up
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios – 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Disney Springs – 10 a.m. – 12 a.m.
Some attractions and entertainment offerings may be modified.
All Disney resorts will also begin normal operation Tuesday, expect for Fort Wilderness Campground and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Treehouse Villas. Fort Wilderness Campground remains close as property assessments continue. Additionally, all shows at The Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue and Mickey’s Backyard BBQ will be cancelled Tuesday. Any existing reservations will automatically be refunded. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Treehouse Villas are scheduled to reopen Thursday.
Disney’s Vero Beach and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resorts will remain closed at this time.
Disney’s guest transportation and reservation center will also reopen Tuesday.

Universal Orlando also reports that its parks are open today. Operating hours are as follows:
- Universal’s Volcano Bay – 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Islands of Adventure – 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Universal Studios Florida – 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Universal City Walk – Open daily until 2 a.m.
