This winter, Telluride, Colorado, is rolling out new flights, special programs, and travel packages.
Flight Updates
Telluride will once again increase air service for the 2017-18 winter season. There will be an overall increase in air service to the Telluride region of approximately five percent, with a 43 percent increase over the last three years.
New flights include a direct connection from Charlotte on American Airlines on Saturdays from December 23, 2017 through March 31, 2018 and a direct flight from Salt Lake City on Delta over the Chirstmas and New Year’s holidays.
Additionally, a second daily flight from Dallas over Thanksgiving and third daily flight over the Christmas/New Year’s holidays is being added.
Ski News and Camps
Telluride is continuing its ongoing, multi-year, multi-million dollar investment in snowmaking upgrades and technology to improve efficiency and reduce carbon footprint.
Additionally, beginners in Telluride will have a new 15-acre terrain-based teaching facility and new 300-foot magic carpet as well as an expanded grooming fleet to enhance the groomed terrain across the resort.
The 2018 Women’s Weeks take place over January 19-21 and March 2-4 for the three-day programs, and February 4-8 for the five-day programs. The packages are inclusive of lift tickets, instruction, and equipment. Attendees will also have access to all the amenities at Peaks Resort & Spa including pool and spa, daily yoga and fitness classes, nutrition counseling and après ski speakers and activities. Rates start at $575 for the three-day program and discounts will be given when groups bring new guests.
The Biomechanics Camp is run by Dr. Kim Hewson, Orthopedic surgeon, former Director of Sports Medicine at University of Arizona, and lead Telluride Ski School Instructor. Hewson has created a scientific-based approach to ski instruction that has been implemented in Telluride for the past ten years. The 2018 Biomechanics Ski Camp takes place from January 12-15. Rates begin at $1,050 and include in-classroom and on-mountain training, daily lunch, video assessment and a closing reception.
Hotel and Resort News
Luxury boutique property The Hotel Telluride is offering a Snow & Soak, Ski & Sip package. It includes three nights, a full-day snowmobiling excursion to the Relais & Châteaux mountain retreat, Dunton Hot Springs for a soak in the natural hot springs, and wine and charcuterie at Hotel Telluride upon return. The package is available from November 23, 2017 - April 8, 2018 and starts from $3,999 (based on double occupancy.) Weather conditions and blackout dates apply.
The Peaks Resort & Spa has teamed up with Naturopathica to enhance wellness during guests’ stay. Experiences include herbal massages, active facials, herbal remedies, teas, tinctures, and honeys customized for each guest.
