Hurricane Isaac could bring tropical storm conditions to the Lesser Antilles on Thursday, and airlines are issuing travel waivers ahead of the storm.
The National Hurricane Center reports that Hurricane Isaac, which currently has maximum sustained winds near 60 mph, is expected to move across the central Lesser Antilles and into the eastern Caribbean on Thursday, and then continue across the eastern and central Caribbean through Saturday. The storm is also expected to weaken gradually over the next 72 hours.
A tropical storm warning is in effect for Martinique, Dominica and Guadeloupe, with tropical storm conditions expected there on early Thursday, while a tropical storm watch is in effect for Antigua, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis and Saba and St. Eustatius.
