Las Vegas is back and ready to provide new entertainment options for travelers seeking that "Sin City" thrill.
FlyOver, a new ride attraction, is set to launch in Las Vegas this fall. Located next door to Hard Rock Café and across the street from Park MGM, the overall experience takes about an hour door to door. Guests arrive in the attraction’s lobby, have a drink, and then board the ride, which is a “multi-sensory experience,” according to executives. The ride begins with a custom pre-show by Moment Factory, a multimedia studio specializing in immersive experiences, plus a pre-flight briefing. The actual “flying ride” is eight and a half minutes. The experience takes guests over iconic locations and natural wonders in the American West.
Las Vegas’ FlyOver flight ride is modeled after Pursuit’s popular FlyOver attractions in Vancouver, Canada and Reykjavik, Iceland. The Las Vegas concept will be in a large space with two flight-ride theaters, pre-show entertainment areas and a full-service bar.
During the ride, a 52-foot spherical screen will surround guests as they ride through scenic destinations in a high-definition space. The attraction will use a state-of-the-art moving platform with six degrees of motion, providing guests the chance to feel every sweeping movement of the journey as their feet dangle above the American Wests’ most stunning locations.
Then, it’s time for a stop in the gift shop for a souvenir photo. Pricing is $34 for adults and $24 for children 12 and under. Discounts are offered for groups of 10 or more. Children must be at least 40” tall in order to ride.
Meanwhile, the iconic Ibizan cabaret, Lío Ibiza, is making its U.S. debut for two weeks of unique entertainment when it takes over Bellagio’s Mayfair Supper Club this fall. Dates are still to be determined.
At Lío, guests will dine and dance, becoming part of a sensory soiree created for this limited run at Bellagio, with the iconic fountains serving as the one-of-a-kind backdrop for the legendary Ibizan cabaret.
When it’s time for a break, guests can retire to Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, which has a new display, “Eco: A Season of Earthly Awareness.” With more than 30,000 flowers and plants, the garden beds are artistically designed to represent earth, wind, water and fire.
Guests are transported into a rainforest as they enter the Conservatory, welcomed by an array of blooming flowers, bright greenery and seven whimsical animal sculptures.

Designer Ed Libby and Bellagio’s horticulture team carefully curated “Eco: A Season of Earthly Awareness,” bringing to life the importance of keeping our planet beautiful.
“As the world transitions into a bright new beginning this summer, we want to inspire people to preserve our home,” said Libby. “After a breathtaking journey through the rainforest filled with copious botanicals and colorful floral arrangements, visitors will be left with a newfound appreciation for our planet.”
“Eco: A Season of Earthly Awareness” was inspired by MGM Resorts’ commitment to being a global advocate in the fight against climate change. Through sustainable design and construction, the Conservatory team is committed to responsible operations including the recycling of water, repurposing plant materials and scenic props and utilizing a green waste procedure that separates plant material and soil matter before it’s transported to a local compost. This waste procedure alone eliminates 90 percent of landfill diversion.
“Eco: A Season of Earthly Awareness” is on display through August 28, 2021. Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens is complimentary to the public and open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Fireworks for All
To declare that the “Entertainment Capital of the World” has completely reopened, Las Vegas says it will throw an epic Fourth of July fireworks celebration that will show the world that Vegas is back. This occasion marks the first time the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has presented a firework show on the Fourth of July. The show will feature Fireworks by Grucci.
In addition to celebrating Independence Day, the destination will be celebrating the return of live entertainment as Las Vegas reopens to 100 percent capacity.
On June 1, Clark County, which includes the Las Vegas metropolitan area, returned to pre-pandemic guidelines, removing all restrictions involving capacity limits, large gatherings and more.
At 11 p.m. July 4, Las Vegas will launch a themed, coordinated fireworks spectacular from the rooftops of ARIA Resort & Casino, Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Resorts World Las Vegas, The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Skypod, Treasure Island Las Vegas and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
“Las Vegas is a city built on hospitality and entertainment, and we are thrilled to welcome visitors back from around the country,” said Kate Wik, chief marketing officer for the LVCVA. “The excitement throughout the destination is palpable, and we know the pent-up demand to visit is real. We have been waiting for this moment to announce that once again, your ‘Only Vegas’ experience is waiting.”
