Las Vegas's Neon Museum to Host Summertime Hot Yoga

Pop-up hot yoga sessions are returning to the Neon Museum in Las Vegas this summer.

The yoga sessions last one hour, consist of flowing vinyasa set to vintage Las Vegas-inspired beats and take places on four Wednesdays – July 19; August 2, 16 and 30. The classes will start at 5:30 p.m., be held outdoors in a shaded portion of the Neon Boneyard and be taught by certified instructor Eileen Lorraine.

Lorraine’s yoga classes are for yogis of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Temperatures in the Nevadan city are expected to soar to 100 degrees or higher, so participants are encouraged to bring plenty of water, their own yoga mat, towel and any additional yoga equipment they may need. The Neon Museum does not have any yoga gear to lend for these sessions.

These four hot yoga classes are restricted to participants 18 years of age or older, unless children 16 and over are accompanied by an adult guardian. Each session is $18 for the general public and $13 for Neon Museum members.

In a written release, Lorraine said that yoga at the museum offers "the perfect blend of nostalgia and what's new." She calls the experience "a satisfying cocktail of external stimulation, internal meditation and movement," as yogis participating will expand their minds and bodies by practicing in such an unexpected environment surrounded by Las Vegas's "most recognizable art form."

The Neon Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to “collecting preserving, studying and exhibiting iconic Las Vegas signs for educational, historic, arts and cultural enrichment,” according to its website. It has been named “Best Museum” by Las Vegas Weekly, one of “Sin City’s Best Retro Sites” by MSN, “No. 1 Las Vegas Museum Sure to Entertain and Educate” by USA Today’s 10best.com, “One of the Top 10 Coolest Things You Didn’t Know You Could Do” by Forbes.com, one of the “Top 10 Historic Spots in Las Vegas” by Vegas.com and one of “15 Most Fascinating Museum in the U.S.” by VacationIdea.com. The museum also continues to earn a consistent 4.5 out of 5 rating on TripAdvisor.
