Eastern Europe's hotel scene is continuing to develop: The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced the Radisson Blu Hotel, Chisinau in the capital city of Moldova. The hotel will undergo a full renovation before opening under the Radisson Blu flag in 2013. It will be the first internationally branded hotel in Chisinau.
Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor, said that the local infrastructure of Moldova is supported by major foreign direct investments. As the capital, Chisinau is the most economically developed city of the country. "The country is emerging from a period of transition to a market economy with a private sector that is now carrying over 70% of the GDP."
The hotel will have 145 rooms and suites, a restaurant, two bars and a wellness center as well as facilities for meetings and events.
