VisitBritain and independent travel specialist Avanti Destinations have launched five new customizable food and drink-themed itineraries to Wales and Cumbria as part of their multi-year Local Flavors in Great Britain campaign.
The campaign first launched in February 2018 with five itineraries and four shorter stays in four British culinary hubs (London, Yorkshire, Edinburgh, Cornwall/Devon), and introduced new educational tools for travel agents, including an interactive microsite, e-brochure and flyers.
Dedicated to inspiring travelers to explore Britain’s culinary history and culture, VisitBritain and Avanti have now added Wales and Cumbria as new gastronomic destinations and created five new itineraries – Sips & Samples of Wales, Bite of Wales, Taste of Welsh Classics, Culinary Cumbria in a Nutshell and Lake District Getaway.
Each itinerary ranges from three to eight days and can be combined with a stay in London, or a different British culinary destination, for a unique vacation experience tailored to the specific interests and preferences of a travel agent’s client.
Agents can also access all-new educational materials on the six featured regions through the Local Flavors in Great Britain digital microsite and e-brochure and print flyers to learn about the food and drink experiences available across England, Scotland and Wales.
Avanti Destinations is the exclusive tour operator for all 14 Local Flavors in Great Britain itineraries and sells exclusively through travel agents.
VisitBritain and Avanti hosted 21 U.S. travel agents in Britain November 5 -12 to experience firsthand three of the new Local Flavors in Great Britain itineraries on educational trips, which visited London, Cornwall, Yorkshire, Edinburgh, Cumbria, Wales and Scotland.
