There’s always aplenty going on in Las Vegas—no matter what time of year. This spring, new headliners will take the stage, new events will be taking place, hotels will reopen and much more.
One of the highlights this spring will be the “grand opening” of the Palms Casino Resort. The hotel will show off its $690 million on April 5. The updates included a myriad of new dining options (such as a new concept by Bobby Flay), new clubs, updates to the rooms in the Fantasy Tower and more art. In fact, the hotel will even be showing off a permanent piece by Banksy. The over-the-top Sky Villas include luxury amenities, including Dyson hair dryers and a gym with Woodway Treadmills and Peloton bikes.
Beginning May 17, Janet Jackson will do 15 shows at Park MGM’s Park Theater. Titled, Metamorphasis, the show will run through mid-August; tickets are available now. In other music news, Aerosmith added 17 dates to its residency at the Park Theater, beginning April 6. Christina Aguilera will debut a new residency, as well, titled The Xperience, at the Zappos Theater inside Planet Hollywood. Beginning May 31, the show has dates in June, September and October.
At The Linq Promenade, comedian Jimmy Kimmel will open his comedy club. In partnership with Caesars Entertainment, the new club will showcase comedians ranging from up-and-coming talent to household names selected by Kimmel and his team in a venue designed by Jimmy and his comedian friends.
For a different kind of performance, just off a tribute to Evel Knievel in 2018, Travis Pastrana announced a one-of-a-kind residency at Bally’s Las Vegas. Nitro Circus, known for its spectacular shows in arenas and stadiums, will debut its first theater-sized show this spring.
This year’s iteration of Uncork’d by Bon Appétit will have a selection of returning favorites and new events. Some of the top new options include Roses and Rosé with Lisa Vanderpump, Champagne Brunch & Truffle-Making with Christina Tosi, Master Series: Gordon Ramsay’s Favorite Things, Under the Stars at The NoMad Pool and May the Best Chef Win: Celebrity Poker Tournament.
Also on the culinary side, Smith & Wollensky will reopen a site in Vegas. A new, two-story restaurant will open this May inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian. Guests can expect the green awnings, lattice work and antique lighting that the steakhouse is known for. At Caesars Palace, Vanderpump will open a lounge (named Vanderpump Cocktail Garden), which has indoor and outdoor space. No date is set for the opening but its website says “opening in early 2019.”
