New Waterloo has announced that Albert Hotel in the town of Fredericksburg in Central Texas is accepting reservations ahead of its opening on January 3, 2025.
Albert Hotel occupies two acres in the heart of Fredericksburg’s three “Golden Blocks,” the center of the historic shopping and entertainment district. Named after Albert Keidel, “the Hill Country’s last renaissance man or its first hippie,” this property is steeped in history. The Keidel family’s roots in Fredericksburg stretch back to 1847 when Wilhelm Keidel, Albert’s ancestor, arrived as the town’s first doctor and judge. The property is a blend of old and new renovation of the Keidel family home, built in 1860; the Brockmann-Kiehne House, built in 1870; Keidel Pharmacy, built in 1906; and The Saloon, built in 1888.
Albert Hotel has 105 guestrooms, from bunk rooms and suites to the multi-bedroom private Albertina House. Facilities include four dining concepts and a full-service spa with seven private rooms. An outdoor highlight is the sunken limestone pool and lounge area designed to be evocative of the natural swimming holes throughout the Hill Country.
Guests can stay in King rooms that range from 353 to 428 square feet, Double Queens ranging from 403 to 626 square feet, or 595 to 1,021-square-foot Bunk Rooms or Bunk Suites with four queen beds. Signature suites include The Tillie Suite, ranging from 790 to 895 square feet; the Keidel Suite at 920 square feet; and the Albert Suite, a 1,421-square-foot space with a living room and dining table, King bedroom, a full bathroom with a soaking tub, and an additional half bathroom. The rooms have custom built-ins for storage, large tiled showers, leather furniture and reading nooks.
The hotel’s F&B options include The Saloon, offering whiskey and beer; The Pharmacy, a market offering coffee, light bites and local goods; The Restaurant at Albert Hotel, set to open in January 2025; and Junebug’s BBQ, slated to debut in March 2025.
Albert Hotel has 3,600 square feet of event space, including a 1,200-square-foot mezzanine deck, outdoor lawn and flexible break-away multi-use spaces. The hotel offers in-house gourmet catering, an event team, and more.
The hotel is an ideal home base for exploring the Texas Hill Country. Wine enthusiasts can indulge in over 100 wineries and tasting rooms throughout the region. Nature lovers can visit the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, where 11 miles of hiking trails wind around billion-year-old granite domes. Other attractions include the National Museum of the Pacific War and Luckenbach.
